How To Add Extra Adsense Cash With Google Custom Search Engine
You may be earning some steady google adsense cash with text or display ad units. But do you know that there can be some more income from adsense when people search something in our site. Many of the websites have a search box where visitors can search for information they are looking for in that site. But search in the in-build search box only displays results to the visitor. It does not send any extra cash to the website owner’s wallet. Here comes the necessacity of Google Custom Search Engine.
I will show you how I transformed my search box in my website to a money making machine. I am using wordpress so I will show you step by step guide to add google custom search engine to a wordpress site.
First, login to your google adsense account. Click on My Ads and then click on Search. Now click on Custome Search Engines –> New custom search engine.
Give your custom search engine (CSE) a name and in the what to search box instead of the entire web select only sites I select, here put your site address, select your country.
Now choose a custom channel. If you do not have a custom channel, create one. Choose the search box style.
Now create a new page in your site. It can be YOURDOMAIN.COM/SEARCH. The search results will be shown in this page, so that your visitor does not leave your site.
Click save and get code and you get 2 codes, one for the search box and another for the search result.
Now put the search box code where you want the search box to appear. In wordpress best is to put it in a text widget at the sidebar. Also put the search page code in your newly created page. Now your google CSE is added to your site. Time to test for some extra adsense cash. I searched for fiverr in my site.
And check the results in the search page. It pulled out some Ads and my recent posts on Fiverr.
So implement these changes and boost your google adsense income with google custom search engine. Also never lose a visitor by driving them out of your site while they search your site.
